She knows the ins and outs of the trade like nobody else. She has one of the best collections of hat blocks in the country and her technique is faultless. The most reputable and well-known publications have featured her work, but Charo Iglesias has not let success go to her head. She becomes excited, as if it was the first time, when tracing first class materials for her hats, even though she has to travel to places as far as Paris, Florence or New York in order to procure them.
Charo knows the importance of tradition in her trade, and that materials and technique are her best allies. She also knows that it is essential to renovate and an inherent obligation in any creative activity: to reflect the world we live in. This designer of hats knows how to do this and currently she is preparing to introduce new shapes into her hats, and she will continue to use her knowledge of colour as well as the secrets of the trade she has learnt from Josef Albers and many other artists she knows so well.
