Handcrafted by Anusch Bayens
Murano glass Necklace, Unique piece. Focal bead is Murano glass and special reactive glass. Hollow acqua beads are in Murano glass handmade on the torch, then sandblasted to give a mat finish. All my beads are properly annealed in a kiln to ensure strength and durability.
Blue beads with yellow murini are ancient Venetian beads from the end of the XIXth century which were used as currency in exchange of slaves. They can still be found on certain markets in Africa. Green disks are recycled glass beads from Ghana. Cone shaped blue-green glass beads are from India. White barrel shaped beads are vintage beads from Murano, Venice. Metal focal bead is Baoulé from Ivory Coast: it is made out of bronze (lost wax technique) with a fine layer of gold. The 2 metal disks are ancient coins that I found on a market in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia.
I use reinforced cable made in Japan to string my necklaces.
