... My work is solely for decoration and beauty. I have been making insects for nearly 10 years now. Each insect is made from several small clay parts held together with small pins of stainless
steel wire hidden beneath the clay to form a single creation. The legs, antennas, are also made of clay, with a thin wire core. Each piece is formed and put together, glazed, and fired in one piece. The clay and wire
are fired together at a temperature of 1080 C. No Glue is used. Each insect is mounted on a Gallery frame, wood, measuring 28 x 28 centimeters.
I have been selling over 350 pieces a year since 2010 at galleries, museums, and through my website. Although they look fragile I send my work through the mail without an issue.
