Collection Fairy Night

CHARLOTTE STORRS

I am a Dutch potter and work from my studio in our beautiful garden near Oxford, UK. I’m passionate about working on the potter’s wheel and make functional stoneware, pots, plates, bowls which can be used on a daily basis.

I use a lovely, groggy, rustic clay and a white glaze for a simple, non fussy appearance. Food stands out so well against the white ceramic. Since visiting a number of potters in Japan I like to incorporate akebia quinata vine in my work for handles. A beautiful, natural material. All work is oven and dishwasher proof apart from pieces with akebia handles.

BETTINA KOCAK

All pieces are replicas from Hallstatt ceramics (ca. 600 v.Chr.) They are polished and shiny. Partly they are white incrusted. Some vessels are a little smaller than the original. They are all field fire vessels. They have small scatches and traces of paint from the fire. This is always the case when they walk through the fire. They burn for 5 hours and cool for one day in the covered charcoal.

CONSTANCE ESCAL

I chose to learn chasing because I am fascinated by metal and all the possibilities that this material offers. The deformations, the decorations and the effects are infinitely declined thanks to the work of the chasing. Metal is a very delicate material, with which one can obtain very fine, very airy results. But it is also a material imbued with strength, which one can deform, hammer, transform. I love this exploration, this search for textures and shapes, sometimes geometric, sometimes organic. I want to transmit my imagination through my creations, create poetic works, bring the material to life to build images, worlds. I sometimes combine metal with other materials to achieve contrasts, to create larger shapes. I try to make objects poetic and precious.

VALERIE CEULEMANS

In my artwork, I express my feelings about the dualities of human beings. I shape items, in a « Precious- Baroque » style, by breaking the rules to create atypical sculptures and tableware with simplicity, mixing the reality and the imaginary. The holes, the asperities and the textures are the stigma of life. The curves make my work sensual, poetic, gorgeous and above all, alive. The porcelain is my favourite material , it offers me more opportunities to express all my feelings and it challenges me all the time with its specificities.

ANUSCHKA BAYENS

Glass is a versatile medium that holds infinite possibilities. It offers transparency and opacity, plasticity and hardness, softness and roughness… It allows beauty and emotions to pass through it… It calls for touching and feeling…
It is that duality in glass that I like to explore as it is a reflection of my roots: both African and European, of what I show and hold inside, of my homes in Belgium and Italy…
My work is often rooted in my personal history and in my African childhood.
Most of my work are one of a kind pieces. Sometimes I work around small series

Disques

These circular works are inspired by ancient China called Disque Bi, or Pi. They symbolize the celestial universe and their manufacture is linked to the Liangzhu culture. The first Bi Disks are dated to Prehistory, over 7000 years ago. They were used for ceremonies or rituals. The stone disc pierced with a circular hole represents an opening to eternal life. This object was used for several millennia until the Han Dynasty, the Golden Age of Chinese history. Unique piece delivered with certificate of authenticity

CAROLINE SHEID

The colors, unalterable in the sun, the aluminum, flexible and less sharp than that of soda cans, the design of the coffee capsules are constantly renewed, allowed me to build up a beautiful range of colors for my up-cycling work.
What ecological impact can this rot-proof waste have?
It is around this reflection that my work revolves.
It’s a message, a reminder, overconsumption changes our Nature.
Using my hands, my fingers, my scissors, my aluminum wire, I sew, cut, sculpt, emboss the material, to interpret the wonders that surround me in our village, in the countryside of Namur.
I thus transpose my images of this environment into 3D creations, mainly from the world of recycling.
Because there is an emergency, let’s think zero waste.
Let’s choose a gift for Christmas that will do our planet good
