... I have taken part in Origin and Ceramic Art London and have exhibited in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. I have several strands to my work. On the one hand I design vessels and shapes. But I also make large one of sculptural work and installations sometimes with video and sound. I have made work in bronze and sculpture in wood and metal. And I make face casts in plaster. This work is made with a unique technique where the woven porcelain is embedded in the walls of the vessels. This produces a smooth polished outer skin and a profile pattern on the inside of the vessel. I use high fired red earthenware (producing a beautiful rusty iron colour) combined with a contrasting porcelain. I finish the REW vessels with a true gold luster or cover the inside with gold leaf. The porcelain vessels combined with a semi-porcelain grid forms a much more subtle and minimal look. The shapes of the vessels are based on old oriental ceramic bowl shapes.
